Carbon Dioxide is a colorless, tasteless, odorless and inert gas.\u00a0When used, it does not cause any damage (unlike water or dry powder, where in many cases their use causes damage), it is harmless to most materials and does not contaminate food, it is not corrosive and it is non-corrosive.\u00a0After extinguishing, it evaporates completely and leaves no residue.\u00a0Thus, it can be used safely in places with vulnerable electrical and electronic installations, valuable works of art, paintings or manuscripts, flammable liquid storage, electrical substations, ovens and furnaces.<\/span><\/div>\n
Because it causes suffocation, its use is contraindicated in places where there are people or animals.\u00a0The three-dimensional action of Carbon Dioxide means that it can fight fires, both vertically and horizontally.\u00a0Its fast movement allows it to penetrate any obstacle through an opening and reach inaccessible and hidden places.\u00a0Carbon Dioxide is a stable commercial product with many other uses and is available worldwide.\u00a0The Permanent Extinguishing System can operate either automatically or manually and automatic control can be achieved mechanically and pneumatically or electronically or by a combination of these depending on any conditions.\u00a0Carbon Dioxide is stored at room temperature in steel cylinders.\u00a0The pressure changes with temperature and at 21\u00baC is about 59 bar.\u00a0Multiple cylinder arrays can be constructed.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
\n
Single or Multiple Cylinder systems are applied depending on the volume of the protected areas.\u00a0In a Multi-Cylinder System, the “Pilot” Cylinder is used to activate the system’s cylinders.\u00a0The “Pilot” Cylinder is activated automatically using the detonator which is fired from the Fire Detection-Extinguishing Panel of the System.\u00a0The Panel is commanded by a Detection System consisting of pairs of Heat Detectors and Smoke Detectors.\u00a0It is activated manually either by pushing the Shutter plunger or by Remote Manual Activation Button.\u00a0The “Pilot” Cylinder Shutter is connected via the EPDM High-Pressure Hose to the Shutter of the 1st cylinder of the system. In essence,\u00a0When the “Pilot” Cylinder is activated, the propellant Gas pneumatically activates the Shutters of the main Dioxide Bottles of the System (the Shutters of the main Bottles of the System are connected with EPDM High-Pressure Hoses). Once the main Cylinders of the System are activated, the Extinguishing Material is forwarded through Flexible EPDM High Pressure Pipes to the Collector of the System from where it is led to Total Sprayer or Local Application Sprinklers.<\/span><\/div>\n
